Collection is incomplete and currently based on a bounded review. Formal academic programs and institutional ecosystem entities appear on separate pages. Omission does not establish that an institution has no relevant activity. These documented records do not estimate national prevalence. See Scope, Methods & Limitations.
An initiative is a governed curricular arrangement with explicit civic purposes, academic credit and participation/completion rules. Required and optional arrangements are distinguished below. The table includes active, planned, and approved-but-not-started initiatives; future entries are marked clearly as Not yet started. Use the lifecycle filter to focus on a particular status. An approved future expansion can appear in an active initiative’s version history without changing its current requirements.
Open a record to see its component-level requirements. Each component links directly to the official source(s) used to document its requirement. When the collection has a separately identified official course description or syllabus, it appears as a distinct course-level link; otherwise the requirement source remains available. The collection-depth label describes how fully the requirement has been coded, rather than whether an institution has relevant activity.
Population key
- Institution wide: all undergraduate degree candidates governed by the stated requirement.
- School: students in a named school or college, rather than the whole institution.
- Program cohort: students in a specified degree program or program track.
- Honors cohort: students admitted to or electing a defined honors curriculum.
- Other defined cohort: a clearly bounded group that does not fit the categories above, such as first-year students, a particular curricular pathway, or students under a specified catalog rule. Open the record for its exact definition.
- Multi-campus: students covered by a common requirement across the named instructional campuses.
